Born Of Fire
During my expedition to the volcanic area of Fagradalsfjall in southwestern Iceland, it was the first photo just after the first contact with lava and the ubiquitous poisonous gas. Volcanoes are a rare opportunity to observe the complete transformation of the landscape. Places that were only recently valleys and meadows became hills, craters and lava fields. Being there was a great experience.

Ravaged Mountainside With A Single Tree Withstanding The Lava Flow
Eruption of the Cumbre Vieja volcano on La Palma Island in the Canaries was the island’s longest-running volcano eruption. Huge rivers of lava and enormous amounts of continuously falling volcanic ash have very much transformed this Spanish holiday paradise. 7000 people have been evacuated; more than 3000 buildings were destroyed by the volcano. Strong earthquakes and permanent tremors were traumatising the local population for almost three months.

In hot weather, bats go to the small lake to drink water around 7:30 before going out to look for food. The light was insufficient and it was difficult to shoot. I wore fisherman’s pants and stood in the water to shoot.
