Walk Through The River Of Plastics

  • Season: Season 2024

  • Description: The Buriganga River, once Dhaka's lifeblood, is now severely polluted due to plastic mismanagement. Dhaka generates 4,500 tons of solid waste daily, with a significant portion entering the river. Annually, around one million metric tons of non-biodegradable waste, including 646 tons of plastic, pollute the Buriganga. Despite efforts to curb plastic use, single-use plastics remain prevalent, threatening human and animal health, and necessitating urgent waste management solutions.
