Description: Elahe Tavakolian, 34, lost an eye after being shot by Iranian security forces during protests in Esfarayen, sparked by Mahsa Amini's death in September 2022. While in the city center with her twin children, Elahe joined the protests. After security forces opened fire, she was hit in the eye. Now in Washington, USA, for treatment, Elahe continues to recover from the traumatic event.
