- Description: The Kailasa temple at Ellora caves is the world's largest monolithic structure. It was not sufficient for the artisans to have carved out the temple from sheer rock. At the bottom is a massive plinth that they sculpted so that it looks like the entire temple is resting on the backs of elephants.
