Frogfish attract their prey by stealthy means. They each have a distinctive lure, which sits neatly on its forehead, here a feathery lure. It extends the lure and shakes it to resemble a small creature in the water column. This attracts prey that the frogfish then sucks into its mouth in a huge speedy gulp, not disturbed by onlookers.
